Teachers at Buhara secondary school in Buhara sub county Kabale district have today laid down tools to protest nonpayment of their salary.
The teachers accuse the school head teacher Everest Ngabirano for failure to pay them for the last five consecutive months.
Teachers who include Innocent Twinomugisha who is the deputy head teacher, Ayorekire Stevenson Director of studies, Amon Nkesiga among others says that they last received salary in September last year.

Teachers also say that the debtors and land lords are on their necks demanding or their money and others are failing even to raise food at home.
The angry teachers also revealed to our reporter that 10th December 2015, they to Kabale diocese being foundation body to look into their matter but in vain. They add that they will go back to in class after getting their whole payment and also accounting for school funds.

Ngabirano the school head teacher admits that teachers have not been paid for only four months. He says that the money that was meant to pay teachers in December was used for UACE examinations and during holidays the school has no income.
He however adds that the teachers will be paid as soon as possible if all the school account signatories sign because they have the money on account.

The Chairman Board of Governors Nazario Ampeire admits they received the petition and they are yet to handle their issues. He however condemned the act by teachers to lay down tools.
